Welcome to 9th Clancy Brothers Music & Arts Festival in Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary
The town of Carrick-on-Suir will once again be transformed into a haven for local & visiting artists, performers and cultural enthusiasts as it hosts its annual Clancy Brothers Music and Arts Festival this June Bank Holiday weekend. The Festival honours the musical legacy of the Local world famous influential Irish Folk music group - The Clancy Brothers - whom together with Tommy Makem were the first Irish singers to achieve international fame during the folk revival of the 1960s. Carrick-on-Suir is very proud of the Clancy Brothers achievements and it is only fitting that their contribution to Irish culture and music should be recognised and celebrated with a Festival.
Now in its 9th year running, this unique Festival has grown from strength to strength since the beginning and this year again we have managed to produce a prestigious vibrant and diverse Festival programme catering for all ages and tastes. So come visit Carrick on Suir June 01 - 06, 2016 and see this picturesque town transform into Ireland's folk and traditional music capital! This year we are delighted that Ireland's newest folk performance stage show 'Waters Wide' will be premiering at the Festival bringing to life Celtic folklore through music, song, stories and dance of Home.
